Professional Development

Halfway there.

Four years into my five-year teaching license, I only have 43 of 90 PGP points needed to renew my license next summer. Luckily, I have found a class at IUPUI that will get me 45 more points — Computers in Education — and it actually looks interesting¬† and useful (some of the courses I took at Ball State University, while informative, weren’t that useful once I actually became a teacher).

I’ve selected Creating Innovators by Tony Wagner and Why School? by Will Richardson as the two professional development books to read for the duration of my class. I chose these books through the process of elimination. Of all the books to choose from, I chose these two after previewing several of them on Amazon and reading the reviews from others who purchased the books. I think I stand to learn the most from these two books.
